Great Southern Copper CEO Sam Garrett talked with Proactive about recent exploration progress at the Especularita Project in Chile, highlighting strong results from channel and rock chip sampling at the Monolith Target within the Cerro Negro Prospect.
Garrett explained that the Monolith Target, located just 400 metres from the company’s current drilling area, has not yet been drilled but is already showing significant potential.
Results so far indicate a copper-silver dominant system, with rock chip samples returning up to 100 grams per tonne silver and 1.5% copper.
Garrett also discussed the broader growth of the Cerro Negro system, which now extends over two kilometres, and the potential connection between multiple mineralised zones. In addition, the company has expanded its footprint at the La Colorada lithocap prospect, a large-scale target that could host multiple porphyry systems.
Looking ahead, Garrett emphasised ongoing drilling, further assay results, and potential metallurgical studies as key catalysts for the company as it advances towards defining a maiden resource.
