Arc Minerals CEO Remy Welschinger talked with Proactive at the latest One2One Investor Forum about the company's copper exploration strategy across Botswana and Zambia, highlighting why the Botswana assets are becoming an increasingly important part of the portfolio.
Welschinger outlined Arc Minerals' position within the Kalahari Copper Belt, where the company holds licences located close to MMG's operating and development assets. He explained that Arc's ground sits within the Zone 5 corridor and near MMG's recent discoveries, creating what he believes is a compelling exploration opportunity.
Discussing the Botswana opportunity, Welschinger said: "The first time you go out there and you drill, no one has ever drilled in 20 years on the ground, we hit copper straight away." He added that the company is focused on defining prospective geological contacts before commencing its next drilling phase.
The interview also covered Arc Minerals' extensive Zambia portfolio in the North Western Province, where the company controls a significant land package in the Domes region. Welschinger reviewed the history of the project, the previous joint venture with Anglo American, and the company's evaluation of potential future partnerships, including the possible use of AI-driven exploration technologies.
